Melody catches a live northern pine snake that found its way into the Kia Sudbury dealership. The snake takes a liking to Mel's office; she's forced to make business calls with her new friend.
@cateyes221981 I owned one for several years. She was nearly the size of the one in this video. In my opinion, Pine Snakes make EXCELLENT beginner snakes. It is true they can be nasty little bastards, but so can just about any other if not properly handled and cared for. Unlike corn snakes and rat snakes, a pine can put a nasty bite on you. Nothing to worry about, though. Pick a tame one and handle it regular. They are great snales. They also seem very intelligent.
Lovely animal! My own Northern Pine snake, Tina, is fine about being handled and has never attempted to bite and she's been my pet since 1994. However, the poor creature doesn;t get handled often enough so she still resists being picked up, hisses, struggles - then settles down just fine and the kids love handling her. The hissing & 'fake rattling' is all bluff - it just means "I want to be left alone".
Nice! Hard to believe it's a "wild" snake. I have eleven Northern Pines and most of them were nasty until repeated handling calmed them down. Oh yea,let them get hungry and you will see that pituophis attitude!!
Wow pretty, I have handled a black pine snake before and they are awsome!
