It always cracks me up how these advertising firms sell perfume. Almost more than any other product advertised, they have to go on image. We can't smell it. We can't reach into the tv and test it. So they just try to produce some image that they want their customers to buy into. Pretty corny.

They have to shock you, and seduce you that you wish you lived into the world of the commercial (that's what branding is all about). Afterwards is all about the user - it does all come down to actually testing the perfume. I find that none of the perfumes I like have commercials that I would describe the perfume with except "J'adore" - Dior.
