  • This is not Syrian Orthodox, its the Indian Orthodox generally Known as Orthodox Syrian in Kerala with the head office at Devalokam,Kottayam. This church has the history of only 100 years starting from Vattakkunnel Thirumeni.

  • no, we were founded by St. Thomas, the Disciple of Christ in A.D. 52.

  • Is this the church that are connected to the Syrian Orthodox Church? The clothing are the same and some parts sounds like Syriac(Aramiac).

  • origins yes, but we split from them for political reasons more or less. We are brothers to them however as to any oriental orthodox denomination as well as brothers to anyone that are christian

  • yes, and i never knew why we spit from him, we just have have our own lkeader under his holiness

  • .the unedited aramaic bible, remained with the malankara christians as many acceded to the petrine church in rome or anthioch. .by remaining a minor church the malankara syrian church preserved its tradition.. curches major or minor remain one as the bible says he stood amongst them to show their oneness in him and there could not be a part with out the whole.---sv
