These commercials aired on CBS on December 17th, 1985. Thanks to cntrctkllr for sharing these.

1. CBS Special Presentation Bumper
2. McDonald's
3. Peaches n' Cream Barbie
4. Campbell's Soup (I have a lot of questions about this one. Why are these kids so creepy looking? How do they smell without noses? And why are they hanging out with some dirty hobo named "Junk Food"?)
5. Life Cereal (A classic commercial that I haven't posted before)
6. Timex
7. Huggies
8. Promo for "Mary" and "Foley Square"
9. WCBS Station ID
10. Drunk Driving PSA (With Magic Johnson)
11. Hallmark Reindeer Ornamants (We still have these)
12. TV Spot for "101 Dalmatians"
13. "The Life & Adventures Of Santa Claus" Commercial Bumper
14. Promo for "The Gift Of Love: A Christmas Story" (Polly Holliday famously played Mrs. Deagle in "Gremlins")
15. Promo for "A Christmas Carol" (I prefer the adaptation with Buddy Hackett)
16. CBS Station ID
17. McDonald's (One of my grandmas used to send us these every Christmas)
18. 2News Promo (A mob hit! Just in time for Christmas!)
19. Hanes
20. Milk
21. Promo for "The Twilight Zone" (The '85 series is obviously not as good as the original, but the episodes I've seen are still very good and a delicious slice of 80's cheese)
22. Promo for "Kenny & Dolly: A Christmas To Remember"
23. Teddy Ruxpin
24. M&M's
25. "The Life & Adventures Of Santa Claus" End Credits (This Rankin Bass logo is definitely not as cool or nostalgic as the one from the 70's, but it's still pretty amazing)

  • @80sCommercialVault I think the '80s Rankin-Bass logo is the coolest. I remember it best from the first season of the classic "ThunderCats" series. By the way, is the R-B/Telepictures logo combination of DVD quality?

  • @Ferocinator Nope, this is all sourced from VHS.

  • I still get excited seeing the rotating SPECIAL! Back then, you knew it meant something really great was about to come on.

  • I remember seeing "101 Dalmations" at the movie theater around that time. It's funny because yesterday I went to see "Beauty and the Beast" in 3D and thought how cool it was and didn't realize HOW many kids nowadays haven't seen the classics on a big screen. Heck, I was an 80s kid and still got to see some major Disney classics in the theater.

  • poor Ken, always came separately

  • OMG, it's 11 year old Kelly from Saved By The Bell! The Campbell soup kids, Yeah I remember them. Let's see 12-17-85 fell on a Tuesday. I was turning 3 in 10 days. As for Rankin Bass, never understood why they went under in 1991.

  • The 80's revival The Twilight Zone series aired when I was around 10 years old and totally got me into the classic series. Nowadays I watch the classic Twilight Zone on Netflix with my 11 year old son he thinks they are creepy and well written --seeing the 80's series on here makes me want to check out the 80's run again ---Happy Holidays

  • @violetzebras

Me too! 1980's Barbie's were the best!

  • Mart Hulswit was also in that Lee Remick TV movie, even if he wasn't given credit in the promo.

The 80's were a heyday for anthology shows. They don't get a lot of credit for this. My favorites were Friday the 13th and Hitchhier.

That second McDonald's commercial is surprisingly good - a lot of the ones with Ronald don't quite work.

Foley Square looks good. Yet another Margaret Colin show no one watched.

  • @80sCommercialVault If it is, that ending logo combo must be plenty clean. :)

  • I have this exact set of commericals recorded from CBS at home. I have the Life and Adventures of Santa Claus on tape when CBS aired it. Small world!
