Coke: Does it really rot teeth?

We test CocaCola to 'Mythbust' the legend that it rots teeth, and we look at alkaline water in comparison.

Interestingly, (and hopefully raising the comment consciousness level ) lemon, though acidic , is one of the best alkalizers one can have. Its level of alkaline residual minerals in the body after the acids have been burnt up by metabolism is very high. Hence the old Granny's axion of a glass of warm water with lemon juice daily.

You're supposed to use distilled water to wash of the pH probe.... you probably didn't get an accurate reading.

Yeah, but you forgot to mention that your stomach has protective lining that protects against the acidity of the stomach's gastric acids... if your teeth were to bathe in gastric acid for a whole day, it'd dissolve.

This is a pointless video. People really shouldn't be worrying about the pH of coke. The gastric acid produced in your stomach (mainly consisting of hydrochloric acid) is used to pickle steel its that acidic, you dont need to worry about the acidity of coke...
