@JubilantShout I looked at another recording for this night, and it is just the quality- seems to be one of those 'Once you go high quality bootleg, you never go back' things. And you misinterpreted- I don't mean he sounds bad, far from it, I just mean it sounds different. I probably could have chosen better words. I feel silly for asking about the date thing, I posted that then looked up and went "Oh." And the Gavroche thing is just a matter of opinion.
Sorry for the confusion. :)

I am in love with David Thaxton. <3 Seems like it was an off-night for him, though. Do you have the date for this performance?
...I don't really like this Gavroche. His voice is too low for me. I'm sure some people beg to differ, though.

Frankly, I have no idea what you're talking about re: off-night, everything seems perfectly fine to me. It could be the quality of the recording, but I've heard and seen a lot of Thaxton performances, and this is completely up to par.
And I actually quite like the lower voice for Gavroche as the boy is supposed to be around 12 and not 6. Ethan was one of the best Gavroches I've seen.
Oh, and as the title says, it was the 17th September.

London is just pretty lucky with the Javerts...

Anyone know the names of the two who played Valjoen & Javeart on this performance - 17 Sept 09?

David Shannon was Valjean and Jeff Nichsolson was on as Javert, he's first understudy. There might be videos with them up in a short while, too. ;)
