Greetings! Here we are another Friday. So it's time for a Prepper's Pantry recipe. I wanted to concentrate on more short term food storage today. We all like to buy in bulk and on sale. So smoked sausage is stacking up in my freezer and Molly opened a jar of pasta sauce and changed her mind, so we needed to use it in something. I came up with this recipe. Smoked sausage can be home canned or frozen. I think that we all stock our freezers and for some die hard preppers we have enough jars and a propane burner if we have to pressure can in an emergency. So take this as you will. It is a good budget meal that doesn't feel like a budget meal.
This fed us for 1 meal with 1 lunch so it serves 5 generous portions. The rice served 5 with this skillet plus 2 for breakfast with milk and sugar.
In all this meal cost literally, less than $7.00 for all of it. Not bad for a quick meal. Fast food the way we like it!
I hope you try this and I hope you enjoy it! As always Happy Eating!
Yummy!

@jake4162003 tomatoes in a cast iron pulls the iron out of the pan into the food. Which is actually good for you. You just need to wipe it with oil after you clean the pan. It will strip the seasoning if done too often, but not harmful.
