The geological story told at the Grand Canyon is much more than a science lesson: it is a story of how humans have struggled to understand the formation of one of the earth's most remarkable landscapes. While the Grand Canyon has been at the forefront of geological science for a century and a half, the National Park Service has only been interpreting that science to a public audience since the 1920s, shortly after Congress established Grand Canyon National Park. Join Arizona State University Professor of History, Paul Hirt, as he explores the story of geologic interpretation in one of the greatest classrooms in the world -- the Grand Canyon.
