An endless epic concert closes out the six night stand at the Forum, and Led Zeppelin start off slow but by the middle they reach a great height, although they do seem to be a little tired at the end. The 40 minute No Quarter contains some great improvisation and Ten Years Gone is really epic. A wild and spontaneous acoustic section is the centerpiece of this show and a riotous and funky Trampled Underfoot is a welcome addition to the concert. Jimmy solo is nearly 30 minutes long and is fairly enjoyable, although his tuning in the middle helps give the impression that it is rather wandering, and Achilles Last Stand is sloppier than most versions. A great end to the saga though!

Just graduated from Burbank HS, it was my first ever concert (late bloomer i guess). Was introduced to Zep at the start of 1977 from a buddy, with the live album, played it nonstop for months. the same friend bought tickets for his buddies as a surprise. arrived at the forum at 4 in the afternoon on a hot sunny day, they wouldn't let us in until about 6pm, just sweated bullets outside. show was supposed to start at 8pm, didn't start until 9:20pm, just completely 'out of my mind' (you know why) by the time they came on.
remember all the long songs, D&C, NQ, MD, they played 'em forever, didn't appreciate it as much then, BUT DO NOW. remember stairway (great), whole lotta love (fantastic). the last encore was R & R, it was so loud, we couldn't even hear Robert's voice, awesome! concert was done at about 1am!
I was completely spoiled from that show, been to many concerts since and nothing could top that night. my kids (16 & 14) now love LZ, passing the torch!

All three concerts were GREAT! Got into my very first car accident on the way to the first concert. Still that didn't stop me, got there in time! On the first night I sat right next to the stage. I saw Bonham talking to a stage hand. The stage hand proceeded to cut the wooden legs off of the stools they used when they perform their accoustic set. When Plant was talking to the croud the stage hand brought out all the stolls for the band and Plants was about a foot tall. All the band members had a good laugh and proceeded with Plant on the small stool. It looked like they were having a greart time together! I was able to get a hold of two bootleg albums that were recorded on Bonzo's birthday and the other is when Keith Moon sat in on the encore. Their both pricless!

This was the last time they played L.A. we had 1st riser seats at about row 20. I was 16 and thought I owned the world ! These were great times for great real rock and roll that will never return. I feel very fortunate to have been part of it all . ( even though I don't remember alot of it due to certain substances )

Led Zeppelin was a very important band that could set a fire under you and at the same time touch the core of your soul, which is exactly what is missing in the crap that is being produced these days. Oh well great memories of a great time as I am sure all of you who there can agree.

  • AWESOME STUFF!!!

  • When I was seven years old, I saw Page and Plant live. My mother and her friends took me all the way from Detroit to Los Angeles just to see the two play. SHe told me at the time this would carve my music roots. Well, now i'm 21. She was correct lol Best concert I ever went to and saw them many more times after that one. Truly the only legendary frontman in my books. The raw power and onstage presence just took me by suprise, and even after seeing multiple bands, Zeppelin still rules all.

  • hey man nice story i would love to have stories like that also but i was born in 89(a little too late) and still i am a big zep fan they are just my favorite band since im 12 and i remember that my hot english teacher gave me my first led zepp album ever she was 4 when bonzo died thats enough proove to say that this is and will always be the best band ever

  • saw the mighty zep on this tour in seattle..the kingdome. had no fuckin idea what they were playing cuz the sound was the worse of any concert i had ever been too. im serious it was that bad. but i was there! lol
