i think he just wants to show how beautiful his coil is

there's so many comments about a shiny doughnut :D

If you make one at home use a ferrite toroid, it won't melt and it will focus the magnetic field. A meter measures current through the coil to measure resistance, moving through a magnetic field will change that current. You have discovered Lenz's Law, 150 years later.

@ianwright40 These people think these things have magic powers. Antigravity and magic energy production and whatever else. There are probably hundreds of videos of these things, and none of them ever do anything that you wouldnt expect. Its sort of like the magnet motors, theres two kinds: ones that don't work, and frauds. Amazingly with them, you can tell which is which without even watching the video, just look in the comments to see if theres a link to someplace to buy stuff.

spitfire thumbs up

If you'll make another coil and wrap it around a plastic pipe and insert it into the center vertically, then apply voltage, you'll have Anti-Gravity BIG TIME :)
-
why doesnt it just lift off and fly away?

Know it's a lot to ask, but could you add subtitles in American.
What a load of tosh. Pushing a magnet near a coil of wire doesn't alter the resistance at all. You're measuring is the change in the voltage across the coil because you're inducing an EMF not changing resistance.
There is an effect called magneto resistance, and a couple of researchers got the nobel prize for discovering super-magneto resistance, but that is nothing to do with what you are doing here.

This is a Rodin Coil. Regardless of the winding, wire gauge etc...just because a guitar has strings doesn't make it a cello or piano...it's a guitar...if you would like to differentiate yourself, you should name your videos Kubik's Rodin Coil...it shows who's coil it is appropriately.

But a guitar with one less string is banjo? or with thicker gauge its a bass or to put another bow to its string its a violin..... I have asked Rodin and he does not mind..... I have given all credits in the more info.

whats the difference from this and the rodin coil.

They are the same apart from my coil has three windings (Not two) and I have wound the coil 120 degrees out of phase with each other..
Thanks for asking..
Paul.
