Youtube is an online video sharing website that allows users to upload and share video clips. With its effective interface its easy for anyone to upload a video and have it viewed by millions of people within minutes. Using adobe flash technology Youtube hosts a wide variety of user made video content, ranging from homemade movies and video blogs to TV clips and original videos. Created by three former Pay Pal employees who recognized the need for an easy video sharing service, Youtube has grown rapidly, its bandwidth usage in 2008 estimated to be greater than that of the entire Internet in 2000. Though largely unknown its reputed that as of April 2008 Youtube has over 83 million videos requiring about 450 terabytes of storage space and costing an estimated $1 million dollars a day in bandwidth fees.
