En los años en los que ´´The mailman´´ ha estado en la NBA como jugador de Utha Jazz (En donde consiguió todos sus éxitos a nivel individual) y con Los Ángeles Lakers le han servido para convertirse en el segundo maximo anotador de la historia en la liga. ´´El cartero´´ fue verdugo de los 3 últimos anillos ganados pos Michael Jordan, ya que perdieron de forma consecutiva las finales en los PlayOff. Después de 18 temporadas sin conseguir el título, Malone fue traspasado a los Lakers donde en ese mismo año llego también Gary Payton, que tenia el mismo objetivo que Karl: ser campeón de la NBA con los LAL de Kobe Bryant y Shaquille O´Neal. El anillo parecia prácticamente asegurado pero en la final fueron derrotados por Detroit Pistons dejando finalmente a Karl Malone sin el trofeo. Lo que si consiguió a nivel colectivo fue la medalla de oro en los Juegos olímpicos de Barcelona '92 con aquel poderoso Dream Team junto con su compañero de equipo durante tantos años y que formaron la mejor pareja deportiva en al baloncesto: John Stockton.

@626SupremeLogic As Charles Barkley said, Timmy all day! Malone is great, but Duncan understands the game so well and he can really get down in the post and create his own shot.

@ Axon - no way dude. Shaq couldn't hit a jump shot or foul shot to save his life. Malone had a complete game from devastating interior strength to the 18 foot fade away jumper over the tallest center. Not to mention the 10+ PPG he got from free throws. The finesse he had for a body of that size is incredible. Definitely the most dominating and versatile power forward ever.
