Most of the tutorials are about how to make Youtube videos, and even complete movies using free software. Of course you can always watch videos on Youtube, but often people want to download the Youtube videos. There are a lot things you can do if you have a downloaded video from Youtube. Since it is on your computer you no longer need to go online to view it. Plus, you can put it in a video editing program and edit it. You can cut clips from it, or capture individual pictures of frames. You can also extract the sound and edit the audio.

I once wanted to watch a how-to Youtube video, but the idiot who posted it put it up at such a low volume, that even with my speakers turned up all the way up I couldn't hear what was being said. He even apoligized for the low sound in the comments section, but for some reason didn't spend 6 minutes to correct the problem, what a lame brain. So I used Keepvid to download that Youtube video and extracted the sound file using Super, and opened the resulting wav file in Audacity and increased the volume, then I opened the downloaded video in Windows Movie Maker, blanked the original sound track, and added the adjusted sound track into the video's audio track and saved the video, now I could play the video and adjust the audio just fine. That's one reason for doing Youtube video downloads.

The easiest way to get your Youtube video downloads is to use KeepVid to download the Youtube video you want. Choose the video you want to download on Youtube, copy the url of that video from the url address blank at the top of your browser that shows what page you are located on. Go to Keepvid.com, and paste the url of the video in the blank at the top of their page, click the download button to the side fo that filled in blank, click OK when a popup box asks if you want to continue because Keepvid is safe and it is OK to continue. Keepvid looks up the Youtube video and shows what resolution downloads are available for that video, choose the one you want and save it on your computer. It is that easy to do Youtube video downloads!
