Legendary Pink Dots - "Green Gang" Recorded live at the Bluebird Theater in Denver, Colorado on June 10, 2006 during the first American show on their 25th Aniversary tour.
Yes, know well that Edward himself is a UK expat, but Nijmegen is and was the home base of LPD at the writing of the song, and if you look at the background of the accidental incendiary bombing of Nijmegen, there are a lot of parallels between it and the song: the planes, the fields, the total burning, the "baby bones" (high number of civilian deaths), and the whole title/peace in our time. Seems a bit more than coincidental?
He has been touring the world 'almost' non-stop since '83. He has a hammock and a mail box in Nijmegen. Nijmegen is one of the few places in this world he can call his 'Home'. He left East England years ago. You do NOT get an accent like that from having Nijmegen as your "home town".
What in particular makes you think he is talking about Nijmegen? Why not Dresden or Kuwait? Or something that has not happened yet...
I want to see them :( x
I wish I was older - 15 and loving this kind of music - your not going to be allowed in the gigs even if they were doing more x
I wish I was 35 years older x

Does anyone know if this song is about the allied bombing of LPD's home town of Nijmegen during 1944? I thought that when I first heard it years ago.
