Gotta give the Lt. Colonel props for being able to keep cool the whole interview. =\ My hubby's in the Iowa Army National Guard - MOS 11bravo, he'll be deploying this yr in july/aug. to Afganhistan, I would love to know for sure that he'll be okay over there. It'd be nice if they would set our minds at ease since we're sending our loved ones over there..

Yes but the National Guard is under command of both the Governor and the President

He isn't clueless, but it's the national guard...hell....people get their bags checked at movie theaters by the employees. I can the the national guard checking for weapons at major events....they are under the command of the Governor first. And if there is civil unrest, that's what the National Guard is for. The last time the national guard was called up in defiance of the president was to stop 9 African Americans from walking into a school.
