A gifted writer whose passionate performance style combines spoken-word, mime, dance and song into one inspirational and entertaining package, Jamaican-born poet Klyde Broox delivers a cultural spectacle with mass appeal. Since the release of his first chapbook of thoughts and rhymes Poemstorm in 1989, which he self-published while teaching in Swansea, Wales, Broox has attracted attention as a rising dub poet on the international scene. His subsequent work the delightfully humourous and insightful graphic novel and poetry collection, My Best Friend is White (McGilligan Books, 2005), would go on to win the 2006, Arts Hamilton-Seraphim Editions Award for Best Poetry Book.
