  • This was cool to watch... I was a bit confused at first... I'm a Highland dancer and I was like "Hmmm that doesn't look like a Hullichan..." but then I read the comments... looks cool! I like how the girls curtsy... in Highland we girls have to bow in most of the dances.

  • @popsensationjanna Thanks! We actually dance it much better now--this was when all those dancing (except for me) just started. Yeah, the ladies are dancing as ladies instead of competing. I wish there was a more social aspect for Highland dance. We all get together and watch Highland dancers at Highland Games and such and just stand agape and say, "don't you hate your footwork now?"

  • what was that, I have never seen anything so bad, when it comes to the foursome reel. sloppy foot work and arms everywhere, some of the steps seem to be very unusual.

  • I've never heard any Scottish Country Dancer be so disparaging of other dancers they wouldn't know from Adam and Eve. I would suggest learning some manners before you go about posting to the rest of the SCD videos on Youtube. Some of the steps are unusual, and this is indeed something we danced pretty sloppily. There is a reason and defense, but you have hardly warranted hearing it.

  • What tune is that?

  • All I know is that the tune is labelled "Foursome Reel and Half Reel of Tulloch" I'm sorry I don't know the exact tunes for you.

  • @jayne0311 The schottische at the start is called "The Devil in the Kitchen", followed by "Muileann Dubh" and finishing with "The Reel of Tulloch"

  • @Semiomniscient I also wish Highland was more social... I mean, it looks like you're having a lot of fun together in your video!

I was just watching some of your newer videos... it definitely looks like a lot of fun and a lot of work, I've never actually seen Scottish Country Dancing before this so thanks for posting! :o)

  • No there isn't :-)

I live in Lille north of France and here no, SCD classes :-(

But there will be soon... I'm learning... :-)

Thanks to people like you who don't mind sharing.. :-)

  • Thank you! Where do you live? There are a lot of SCD classes out there. There might be one that is within driving distance to at least attend occasionally.
