You drive a good American car and then you drive a good European/ Japanese car and, unless you're biased you'll see European and Japanese cars are way better, both in quality build, performance and efficiency.

you can't compare the American and British spacial achievements as any spacial achievement is tightly connected to a brutal economical investment. You can compare the achievement / investment though.

Car companies don't dedicate to the Aerospace field. These are two completely isolated areas. If one of them is better or worse, it doesn't have any effect on the other whatsoever. I have a good feeling towards many Americans but their cars really suck, with a few exceptions ie: the Z6 Corvette
