Michaela's 13th Birthday--August 2010--haha:)

Namaste! Thank you for taking time to watch our daugther's video of her 13th birthday!

This is Michaela, she's our first born and we just love how she's growing up to be such a sweet young lady!

We wanted her birthday to be special, of course, but, especially so since this was her 13th birthday. Something about becoming a "real" teenager is special and should be celebrated.

Since she's a summer baby, we didn't feel inviting friends would be feasible since everyone around here in August is taking that last minute vacation before school starts. I didn't want Michaela to be disappointed if her friends couldn't make it, so, we decided to surprise her.

We reserved a weekend at the Hideaway Ranch and Retreat outside Glen Rose, Texas. It's a nice place to take family and friends...great for couples or families.

Some cabins are "couples only" and so, there is a nice selection.

We didn't tell Michaela anything, we just "went for a drive" and she began looking suspicious, but, still not really expecting anything.

We finally reached the cabin and she was happy and very surprised!

Aw that looks like fun! Happy birthday to Michaela! So she will be in 7th or 8th grade now? I remember a few years ago she was still in elementary school :o)

My own 16th bday will be in a few days, so we're pretty close in age!

Michaela really enjoyed her birthday and I was super emotional. :) I think it was because of me realizing she's growing up!! :) I know if I were surprised by a weekend stay, I'd be jumping up and down and doing cartwheels...maybe not the cartwheels, but, you know. lol

actually, good point...what happened was, I uploaded this before...way back in late August and since I never came back to YouTube to check it out, I didn't realize it didn't get transferred properly and therefore, never sucessfully uploaded...I just found this out yesterday evening. LOL
