sorry I'm sick and a little grouchy didnt mean to come off as i did. Here's your head back. LOL. I checked the clip out again and i guess the problem that i have is that the ending lacks emotion. She emotes to Marcello..that he says nothing but yet he's dying to!! Thats big to me and i didnt feel anything when she sung that. is the Maestro Coppola on here?
I can read. You didn't say that you were offering an opinion. You stated a fact, as if Puccini had whispered to you exactly how long a note should be held.
Did you check the Puccini-Alfano-Coppola connection? You really should. i'm not being critical here, because you obviously love opera as I do. In brief, Alfano was a student of Puccini, and finished Turandot. Alfano then mentored a young Anton Coppola. I think Maestro Coppola is the last link to Puccini, and his opinion counts.
You apparently cant read...i said that she was a beautiful musetta but i wish she would have held the Bflat out longer. Just my preference. I do know what i am talking about..i just like hearing the note showcased. It was constructive criticism. It would have been completely different had i have said. OMG this soprano sucks! Chill out! Opinions are like assholes..everyone has one and there are a lot of them on Youtube. DEAL WITH IT!
Unless you can do better, musoph, you shouldn't criticize. I was in this show (an undistinguished chorister) and can confirm that she sang it the way it was supposed to be sung. Do you think Maestro Coppola would allow Puccini to be done wrong? (Check the Puccini-Alfano-Coppola connection.)
Or maybe you have sung Quando M'en Vo yourself enough times to make you an expert. Where are your performances on Youtube?
Sorry, I get tired of critics who don't know what they're talking about.
