Wonderfully spirited performance of this unjustly neglected masterwork - greatly deserving of improved microphones. But despite the limited audio range there's unmistakable quality in tone and ensemble in abundance here. Please do your fantastic cellist a favour and play Op. 20, #2. Then post it here, of course. Bravo... Excellent playing... More Haydn. In the classical period, he was the best string quartet composer. Love his first violin scores and his cohesive orchestration of the other players. Pure Genius...
