Velocity 5.25 - Final Destination
- Much more than just Displacement over Time
~Random Info Below
About the Movie:
So lots of things went wrong with me recently and I am now unable to trick for (I'm hoping) about 6 months to a year after surgery, on the assumption I will be able to do stuff ever again. I was planning to finish this movie closer to the end of summer and I'm actually quite disappointed with it. I have a list of like... a hundred more tricks I wanted to put in, including lots of new things I haven't tried before. I especially wanted to have more street running and freestyle which I never got around to. Also, since the release became premature I had to add in a lot of "bad footage" I wasn't originally planning to use. I couldn't put together as full a sample as I had hoped but seeing as I'll be out for some time I decided to put it together now rather than wait for a long while. Lastly, I had originally intended to use the song "Fall Children" by AFI for the background music. The song's really fast and... hardcore I guess, so it would have been great to use but I lacked enough footage and felt what I had didn't live up to the song so I went with "Until the Day I Die" by Story of the Year, another one of my favorite songs.
The Trick that Destroyed my Leg:
My needed surgery is a result of a wallflip 360 twist. Such a trick is seen at 1:15 of this video but is not when I got injured. Upon landing the twist I somehow fractured 2 bones in my knee, tore several ligaments, bruised muscle tissue and stretched a few tendons. I then reinjured my knee attempting an aerial 2 months later, in which case I completely tore my ACL.
About the Name:
So our friends have the Shpeil "Velocity" which is our movie series where we use whole numbers for each successive movie. Then for my side series of tricks I added a ".5" to every number since that's not really apart of the group. Since I wasn't able to finish this movie I used ".25" because it's really only half done, if that. I called this movie "Final Destination" because I'm not sure if I'll be able to make anymore films later on. Final Destination is also a pretty awesome stage on Super Smash Bros.
Favourite Trick in Video:
I, personally, really like the giant frontflip at 2:06
Special Thanks to: Jordon Boa, Marshall Revell, Garrett Moffatt and Andrew Osborne for filming... and occasionally the random person who's name I didn't know.
And for you non-physics people, velocity is equal to displacement over time (v = d/t) hence why that keeps showing up
Man I wish I could do just one of these fuckin tricks!! lol!
