  • thanks for the video. i'm an electrician myself. i've done minimal residential wiring, but am getting accustomed to alot of the tricks fairly quick. these videos will also help in the future. keep 'em coming!

  • @southeast40 Hey fellow Sparky - good having you watch the videos. Yes. I need to make some more of these, i've just been busy adding more electrical wiring info to the website. I guess i'll have to fire up the camera and get shooting!

  • very helpful thanks!!

  • @bmw92111 Awesome - Thanks!

  • Very useful video. To see the pictures at 3:02 of the exact model I have and know I am installing it correctly. Bought the cans used so they didn't come with instructions.

  • @camperjohn6464 Thanks camperjohn! Very glad I can help out - Keep up the good work!

  • 2:55 Did I hear right? Hmm

  • Hey guys, any vids on these recessed lighting with no attic access? I'd like to add 2 of these in my music room in the basement. thx.

  • I am replacing older, non IC rated lights with newer, IC rated lights. The previous owner / "contractor" decided rather than use the IC lights, he just pushed, by hand, the insulation away from the lights, allowing plenty of energy loss and air flow. Are the lights you are using here IC? Can you blow in insulation around them?

  • @CaptainDummyTalk It is easy . Not sure what style you are dealing with but there are various securing mechanisms that vary in difficulty...to the average consumer.

  • And the clips just magically get pressed into place? Got four of them going in a basement bedroom ceiling, and those clips do NOT just pop into place. The only part of the installation I needed help with, and you skip over it completely. Duh.

  • shoudent u caulk it ?
