The halting of such practices as rape and paedophilia are ever more difficult in a economic and social climate like Zim - as parents are unable to provide/die (no: of AIDS orphans is high), leave behind children to look for work (sometimes in other countries), where rape is used as a weapon/intimidation in political disputes etc. What makes it even more sad is it seems it is going to be like this for quite some time. cont..

The first difficult task in combating such abuses is to get the population to accept that such practices ARE happening. It is difficult in Africa to come out publicly with such revelations, for fear it may taint the peoples reputation e.g. It is common for a Zimbo to say something like - we don't do that in our culture - refering to things like homosexuality, rape and paedophilia. cont..

Many in our country now have the wealth and degrees to travel, adopt children, etc. Big homes, Gov jobs, etc. To you I cry- GO save those kids.
