Harris County Sheriffs Department (Houston, Texas) - 3rd Larget in the U.S. This is a brief description of the Contract Deputy Program, the deputy is responsible for police services inside the subdivision he is assigned to. The Deputy also responds to regular calls for service just as a regular Patrol Deputy would but his first responsibility is to the subdivision. The Contract Deputy responds to calls such as Domestic Violence, Robberies, Burglaries, Assaults, Fires, Missing Persons, Suspicious Persons, Traffic Accidents and some subdivisions are large enough to have schools in them so the Contract Deputy would also write Traffic Tickets. • wait, im confused. This deputy is being paid with tax money, but hes double dipping from the housing community as well? Am I getting this rite or am I mistaken?

  • @redneck500 You are mistaken, the homeowners association pays 100% of the Deputies salary.

  • @gtstang1420 O ok, thats better. I was thinking he was double scooping! :)

  • @redneck500 But if you notice at :20 seconds in the Deputy spends 70% of his time in the neighborhood and the other 30% doing things outside the neighborhood. Now the ratio for this PARTICULIAR subdivision is 70/30. Which means that 70% of HIS salary is paid for by the Homeowners Association and the other 30% of his salary is paid by Harris County.

  • @redneck500 There are SOME that are 100% paid which means the Deputy answers only calls in the neighborhood, his daily work card should not reflect any activity outside the neighborhoood. Unlike this Deputy in the video where his work card can show up to 30% activity outside the neighborhood. Hope that helped explain things.
