  • why dose everyone use a scope not to brag or anything i shot my first squirrel at 30 yards open sights but nice video anyway and nice shooting too

  • @emokiddXhotemorage I am not a big fan of em either, my buddy is legally blind so he has a reason to shoot with em. I always shoot open sights unless I am shooting a rifle that I am wanting to shoot over 100yds with.

  • Sir have you ever tried using the.17 HMR CCI 20 grain FMJ? I have found that these bullets are probably the best .17 hummer Round for shooting squirrels very little meat damage but kills effectively. I believe because the bullet travels so fast it imparts alot of SHOCK or hydrostatic shock to the animal without causing a massive wound. So if you pull a shot and hit the squirrel in the shoulder or chest you don't have to worry because its comin down without alot of meat damage. I go for headshots

  • @Walter5734 That is what is used in this video.

  • what caliber is ur gun.?

  • @pure2089 this video is a .17HMR

  • @emokiddXhotemorage

It's far easier to get a head shot with a scope than with open sights.

  • @Labyrnthdom I know this is old but, was that retard honestly trying to say that squirrels are not a varmint?

  • @HammeredAndHorny ahh ic what u mean there

  • @emokiddXhotemorage The way I look at it is a scope just helps you not injure it. I mean, I'm pretty good with irons, but why not use the tools at hand to make a nearly guaranteed kill? There's a lot to be said for skill with irons, though.

  • Nice Job. Kill all tree rats!

  • oh ok dude :)

  • We poke the dreys out then shoot them with a 28 gauge because of the damage they cause on our shoot.

  • @jfrye9319 Ok well thats good. I wasn't really sure because the video quality isn't that good at getting a detailed image of the squirrel you harvested with your Marlin .17HMR.It seems as though you blew a massive hole in its back right along the spinal cord.Which led me to believe that you where using the.17gr. polymer tipped bullets.I haven't experienced that type of wound damage on squirrels yet using the CCI.20 grain FMJs.Are you sure you didn't accidentally load.17 polymer tipped bullets?
