@pupethedruid Of course there are males, if not the species would be asexual. Anthias can change gender from female to male and as such switch from having a pair of ovaries to a pair of testes. To say there is no such thing as a male is just plain wrong. The male is usually larger with a different coloration and sometimes with an extended dorsal fin.

theres no such thing as "male anthias" they are gender neutral.

In nature, when this happens, they fight in order to determine who keeps they're gender. There can only be one male.

Those two males will continue to fight until one of them gets sick from the stress and dies.
