LGB Stainz engine w/ QSI sound, Xmas cars + Playmobil passenger car, Christmas '09

Sorry for the lousy picture and chatty guest in background! I bought this train from a Craigslist ad (adding xmas cars bought off ebay) and I set it up for my kids to find going around the tree Xmas morning. I had QSI sound installed (just the DC version - though it could upgrade to DCC later if so desired) by a local small company called Throttle Up here in Oregon. My kids love Playmobil and I chose LGB G-scale because it's compatible with Playmobil trains/cars and the people can ride along. ;) I realized after this video was taken that the engine will make the appropriate sounds for slowing down, e.g. squeaking breaks and shutting down process that the old steam engines made, if we stopped the train more slowly and by not turning it all the way back to zero but more like 1.5. That way the train crawls to a stop on its own. Fun stuff!
