The "Crackler" as it became known was a focused electrical discharge weapon. It got its name from the intimidating noise it created when fired. While devastating at close range, the bolt was easily diverted at distances greater than 50 yards. It was excellent for defense against large creatures in areas of dense foliage. Less so in metal rich environments such as ships or trains.
its a plastic watergun!

@84Kakis - Specifically, it is a Ja-Ru water pistol for the base. The emitter is from a dog flea and tick applicator and the vacuum tubes are used quartz halogen headlight bulbs.

@enganear whats with the christmas tree lights on top of the breech?
TheArtbell 4 months ago
@TheArtbell - Hi and thanks for the question. The vacuum tubes visible on top of the breech are the key elements in the trinary array oscillator. The switching performed in these tubes in conjunction with windings internal to the frame creates the high voltage pulse that is channeled to the emitter. The tubes run very hot and have to be exposed to avoid damage and to avoid heating the gun to the point it could not be held. (all in good fun!)
