Civil War vet John Carter is transplanted to Mars, where he discovers a lush, wildly diverse planet whose main inhabitants are 12-foot tall green barbarians. Finding himself a prisoner of these creatures, he escapes, only to encounter Dejah Thoris, Princess of Helium, who is in desperate need of a savior.

The people who bag on this film because they think it's just a rip off of other films are just showing how ignorant they are. As has been said at least a dozen times... THIS CAME FIRST. The story was written over 100 years ago and along with the works of Jules Verne, and HG Wells set the foundation for all of todays science fiction. For all you morons out there... pick up a book once in a while!
