Ah that clarifies things ten...thanks. BTW, what I watched was your instructional demo on Sunday. We've not spoken personally, but my boyfriend (long haired dude if you can remember) has and he's fascinated with what you are doing. I'll be watching to see what I can learn from your Youtube vids. :)

I'm from innilgard and watched you at the Gumeracha medieval fair. Nice vids btw...one question: at 00:57 you seemed to get what looked like a 'good' hit...

It may have looked like a good hit to Nathan's body with a snap, but watching closely, I doubt I could have generated enough power with the blow because my hand started too far forward and I failed to get the hip rotation right. Nathan is a VERY honorable opponent (and a great guy).

I am Gwynfor, the one of the left in mostly blue.
I don't know what it is like in Germany, but in Australia more people are fighting metal weapons and behourd, as well as traditional Western Martial Arts because each solves the problems of recreating medieval combat differently. That's why I do all the styles I can access. :)

Bad fight without rules... hit on the head...hack&slay...
They haven't got real swords... believe me, you can't act like this with a sword...

The rules are those of the SCA. The SCA recreates behourd combat rather than combat with rebated weapons. You may be surprised how like that you can act with real swords. Having fought metal weapons and SCA for over 20 years (longer than you have been alive). In professional metal weapons demonstrations I fight full speed, full power. I've worked in tv etc as a combatant and fight scene choreographer. I may know a bit about medieval combat that you have not yet discovered.
