You should contact EA's support for that. It might also be that your ISP is blocking some required ports. Your own firewall can do so aswell.

do you still play battle for middle eath 2 online? if so can you tell me how to get the updates?

This was posted 6 days ago so yeah, I do still play.
You can either use the autopatcher from the start menu. Run as admin if you're on Vista.
Alternatively you can get a manual download which you can find from EA's support site.
