Super sweet landing

Soaringpilot12345, I suppose I should explain why I don't like wires. I was a pax in a airplane that lost its tail when it had a wire strike on landing. Big time prang of the kite.

Soaringpilot12345, we'll have to film some full slips which we do gobs of, power off. The Cub will come down at a quite the rate of descent in a full slip. Frankly, they are addictive.

Yeah, the trees are about 40 to 60 feet and you lose the crosswind just below the power lines. Almost always a crosswind. I think there are 2 champs based on this runway when they are not on floats.

It's kind of hard to see the power lines on the video but I kick into the slip just as I clear them. I suppose I could actually start it before that but I'm too chicken...

Great slip
All I wanna say: "special well landing", ain't that even more than just a smooth touchdown? Why don't you try again, high approach, engine idle (if you're really good: mags off) side slip, ...and post it in reply. Then u will get even more props. cheers

Please: Get some cub time and learn the definition of a cub special. You'll have a whole new perspective.

Nice, short field, low approach. What, if the engine fails on final, guys?! Ever tried a high appr. with constant slipping? btw: I would not be "chicken" of slipping before the power lines. Practice a little and you will see that you can vary the glide slope using differential flaps and slipping angle so that you don't need to be afraid of hitting the power lines, oversooting or much worse hitting the trees. all with engine idle ;)

Then we land in the trees. Have any cub time?
