Two unused maps in the initial (non-International) version of FF7j, found following Fallconn2's discovery of another discarded part of the Honey Bee Inn at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DA5RrgIFPw

Since I don't have a walk-through-walls code for this version of the game, and Cloud gets stuck in scenery on these maps, I improvised by meddling with his co-ordinates; sorry about the slideshow effect.

For a translation courtesy of the first part, courtesy of GlitterBerri, see http://www.glitterberri.com/final-fantasy/ffvii/unseen-text/honey-bee-inn-part-2 Unfortunately, it seems the game's kanji encoding is messed up in the second...

  • Anyone care to notice the TV in the back shows random images.. one of which i know for sure is Shinra Mansion (Or whatever its called, the one with Sephiroph in the basement). Any chance this is of signifigance?

  • @HeliosFramework Have a look at Shademp's commentary on unused FFVII stuff on thelifestream . net.

  • Do you think we can be certain that there are no more maps left to be discovered in the original japanese FFVII? Has anyone tried transporting themselves to every field in the game and thus confirmed that there is nothing else?

  • @Shademp Looking at the files on the disc reveals what's there. In a few cases there seems to be incomplete field data; I know someone on the Qhimm forum was reconstructing tile graphics for one such map a while ago.

  • @HeliosFramework Yeah, thats always fun :D

  • @Zangetsu2224 Absolutely right. I'm surprised I didn't notice that. Good find! I wonder if it's just random or if there is any hidden meaning. (Probably not, but i enjoy speculating)

  • @HeliosFramework Also, the second picture that comes up looks like, if I'm not mistaken, the rocket from Cid's hometown.

  • seems to belong to the honey bee

  • Awesome...
