So many memories! I used to get Look-in magazine every week in the late '70s. I wish I had kept them all now, I think my Dad threw them out, he threw everything out. I still have a couple of Look-In annuals stashed under my bed.
..not sleeping because Santa was on his way, but always missing him, XD Staying up to the bells to see in Ne'erday, (New Year), with another 2 to 3 months of sledging, snowmen building and snowball fights to go, gathering flowers in Spring and selling them like tinks to anyone daft enough to buy them. lol. Easter eggs rolling down the back garden, being sick from eating too many chocolate Easter eggs. Watching Tiswas on TV. And back to Summertime, the School and Church day trip then holidays.
In the Autumn, eating wild Raspberries and Blackberries, up the woods in September, hunting for hazelnuts in October, playing Conkers, going out dressed up for Halloween, watching out for witches flying in their broomsticks, lol, in November, gathering wood for Bonfire Night, going round, penny for the guy, buying fireworks at 8, no questions asked. Watching the first Snowfall at the end of November that usually lasted till middle of March, waiting and watching for Santa Claus, and not sleeping
During the 70's I was between 2, (2 years, 2 weeks and 3 days) and 12 years. So all the Political and Economic carry on went straight over my head. But hay, that's what's being a kids all about. No worries, What seemed like endless weekends and Summers, Building Lodges from ferns and sticks up the woods, swinging from trees, fishing for "minties up the burn", i.e. Tiddlers up the stream, with Muli-Coloured nets. And Bucket and Spades at the Seaside. Running about until 10 at night in Summer.

Exactly what year was this? I was 12 at the very beginning of 1980, but I can't remember any of these?
