  • I clicked on this one, because I thought it was going to be a nice treatise on the emotional power of music. But apparently, she only has "Music" in the title here because she wanted to use it as an analogy for the remainder of her ramblings. And that's exactly what this one was ... pure rambling. She was all over the place in this video, stating nothing but the obvious.

  • Most painful: listening to this woman talk so slowly and stating the obvious!

  • Its a no brainer given the nature of man and the sufferring of their attachments to want to put people through hell in the name of what? They will always ask the question did the ends ever justify the means of their desires? The government\peoples wills to do wrong or what they thought or think is right at the time is very costly and no soul will ever profit from!

  • Has anyone ever considered, I suppose they have? That there is and has been top secret mind experiments being tested on unsuspecting human subjects in society American or otherwise?

  • it was a painful experience to see that the maker of this video can't spell experience lol

  • @Miikoong904 each period of your life, and even each precise moment, calls for a different kind of music. once you understand youself and your tastes better, you will learn to appreciate music (and the related emotions it gives you)

  • It not difficult to define emotion at all. 1:28 Emotion: n. an affective state of consciousness in which joy, sorrow, fear, hate, or the like, is experienced, as distinguished from cognitive and volitional states of consciousness. See, that was easy.

  • Listening to music never makes me feel any emotion.

  • Most painful /depression

    Most pleasurable /excited

  • most painful is watching my friends being killed in Iraq. most pleasurable: seeing my girlfriend smiling

  • Having engaged in "nit-picking" on iissues of differentiating between emotion and its consequences in terms of stress mood and behaviour and her analogies with music I do agree entirely with her statements on the practice by psychiatrits and other professionals irresponsibly labelling our difficulties in coping with stress as a mental "disorder" She articulates her views extremely well. We can better benefit from advice enabling us to improve our coping skills than swallowing medication.

  • The speaker here points to features common to music and emotion. Music indeed reflects and compounds moods and sentiments and can, by deflecting attention from a threatening stimulus, play a significant role in alleviating stress Duration and volume flow from the intensity of feeling when stressed or excited and will vary from one individual to another whereas the intensity of a piece of music is. more often than not, predetermined in its composition.

  • Another unproven assumption, which clouds understanding emotion, is the assertion that there is no cognitive activity which precedes the physiological changes arising from a perception of threat or promise. Surely a determination that we interpret some aspect of the environment or our life situation as promising or threatening can only result from appraisal and judgement, however seemingly instantaneous or brief,. This is obviously a cognitive function., Otherwise it is an act of "magic" .

  • Saying that emotion is the least understood concept in psychology and difficult to define is a typical introduction by those who try to explain it. Why it is "difficult" is based on an invalid assumption that stress, excitation and responses associated with emotion are, in themselves, the "emotions" rather than consequentiall behaviours,, mood, stress or excitation induced by emotion. Emotion is no more than a disturbance of equilibrium induced by a perception of threat or promise..

    The VAWA Immigration Loop-hole:
