Some thoughts on the problem of unanswered prayer. Response to videos by TheCatholicGuy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70jJj40pw8M

and JezuzFreak777 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZiBn7jHijo.

Oops, I made two spelling errors in the video. Sorry. Still getting used to Windows Movie Maker. I'll be more careful in future.

  • It sounds like you tried praying and God didn't answer you, well sorry but He doesn't answer prayers if you do not believe in Him. "Anything" didn't mean material things. Start by really believing in Him, then pray, and wait, I guarantee He will listen and answer, He does for me. But my prayers are related to real life needs. And Jesus definitely could have done that, but that would have changed His divine plan.

  • @followgood I was a believer for most of my life. Belief is not the issue and you know it. Prayers are not answered in the way Jesus in the gospels is portrayed saying they will be answered. It just doesn't happen that way. And here's the reason: there is no god to listen to and answer the prayers.

  • @ProfMTH God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

  • @followgood "You were never a true believer then if you are not one now."

    LOL!

Look up the "no true Scotsman" fallacy and learn to avoid it in future.

  • If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.

This verse is not a guarantee that we can get anything we want simply by asking Jesus and believing. God does not grant requests that would hurt us or others or that would violate his own nature or will. Jesus' statement is not a blank check. To be fulfilled, our requests must be in harmony with God's kingdom.

  • @mustangpassurchevy So, then, the statement "if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer" is not accurate, correct?

  • @Spillerix I apoligize.

  • @followgood

    Matthew 5:22

But I say unto you, [...] whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

  • @8698gil That's funny because since I became a true believer I don't worry at all, love life and desire the eternal life. Life is as hard as you make it on yourself. And why is everyone's life so important to live and not die?????

  • @8698gil That's perfectly fine with God, me and all the other nutjobs because FOOLS are not welcome, bye

  • @followgood Why do you think god's will is a good thing? It makes absolutely no sense, unless you are a believer and think that all things will be explained after you die. I see no reason whatsoever to waste my life waiting for answers which will never come. What if I die and your god still decides not to provide any answers? Thought of that? And eternity sucks. I can't imagine spending an afterlife with those religious nutjobs I grew up with. Now that is hell.

  • @followgood The last thing I would ever want is eternal life. LIfe is hard enough with just one to worry about.

  • @followgood I'm not angry at believers, I just think you are deluded. And it is a shame, because it prevents you from living your life here to the fullest. You choose to waste your life concentrating on another life afterward that you don't even know exists.

  • @ProfMTH Sorry I don't compare a man's word against God's, theres no avoiding God.

  • @8698gil Being angry at believers only buries you.
