My father saw this at the drive-in when this first came out. I wanted to go see it with him, but my mother wouldn't let me go with him.

Hows come the pelican didn't get a credit? Bet he was played by Curly Howard...sounds like him.

Robert Arthur(Who had produced some of A&C's best film comedies)worked as the producer of this war time romantic comedy/drama. Digby Wolfe the comedy writer..who would later write for "Rowan & Martin's Laugh In!" served as the pre recorded off camera singing voice.Who performed the tune"Pass Me By!".

Ralph Nelson directed "Requiem for a Heavyweight" and "Duel at Diablo," among much else.
It's funny that they made Cary Grant an "American" for this one. He did try to adopt an American accent when he first got to Hollywood to broaden his career, which is where that unique accent comes from, and it did work in that he could play Americans afterward. He sounded about as American as he did British after that. He grew up with a Cockney accent. He's such a brilliant actor!
A classic.Crant is superb!

The Oscar was for Best Story and Screen Play. Thank you for the upload. Cary Grant was the best. He made acting look easy. He should have gotten an oscar for some of his pictures he made. I know that gave him one for the body of work. However, he should have gotten one for Penny Serenade.
