Great camera! I've just bought i today in denmark for about 300 $.

however it's a good camera and very usefull for photos......for videos....i use samsung hmx-h106....

too bad. samsung isn't exactly cheap here in korea, either. but i don't think it's such an expensive camera, is it?

i'm looking now at the canon S90 and G11, the panasonic GF1, and the sony WX1. i doubt that i'll get all four!

any ideas, anyone?

hi, i'm from italy and i have this camera. in my manual samsung says that no audio when zooming...i think (sob) no firmware upgrade.....

yes, it looks awesome....something that woos me to easily....but i've never read that samsung tops the charts in terms of image quality.

i'd be interested in checking it out....here in korea you just buy, don't try. (like mountain bikes....grrr)

the one thing that would bother me is what bothered you. i'd want to be able to zoom during video, something that my old sony doesn't do. i need it for filming my students' speeches, and want a versatile option for zooming. not hearing them? useless.

kinda annoying but i get around with it. Sure I would apprecciate an firmware update.. But Samsung told me, that it could take a while.

All in all... the price, the design, the analogue dials... n1 in my opinion.

I'm german :D And I bought it. In general im really satisfied. When u turn on the camera, it takes less then 1,5 sec to take the first photo. Wether the "easy automatic" chooses to use the flash or not, it takes about 0,5 - 3 secs to take the next picture. The video quality is mint.. Check out some of my videos of an heavy metal festival here in germany.

The one and only con still is the sound, that shuts off while zooming...

any update from samsung yet, nick? it would be the one thing stopping me from buying it.

how about picture and video quality? dynamic range? ease of use? time delay from start up to first shot? successive shots? multi-burst function?

i've found little feedback on this, cuz it's new. i live in korea, and i'm sure i'll only get hype at the electronics mall.
