I've been working on making a read-aloud DVD of my book, Kandu and the Magic Meadow, to package with my book and/or sell separately on my website. This solves the problem of producing and packaging it, and is a terrific service, simplifying the production and shipping! I'll use it!

Thank you for this wonderful post! There is one clarification we'd like to add: Ripple actually is not an e-book. We designed it specifically to encourage children to listen to personalized recordings with a physical book in their laps. Our consumer site, which launches in Fall '09, will provide links where users can purchase the actual book if the child does not already own it. We are very excited about the positive comments your readers have added here and we look forward to serving you!

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. I hope no one uses it as a substitute when they COULD actually read to the child but I know this is far too valuable to worry about that. Awesome!

I love this. I contacted Ripple to check them out and they have a great idea. As a self publishing consultant, I'm sending this site to all my authors and will be additing Ripple to my web site.
