  • @Nicknallister Rough but singable

Golden rings and turquoise rings were rolling Down the meadow and out of sight

Gone, like you, your lovely shoulders Disappeared in the dark of the night

Then the rings fell in the far green meadow And scattered like the love we once had known

No regrets and no more wishes Life is sad now that I’m all alone

Sing, guitar, and cry away my sorrows Take away the sadness my heart bears

No Regrets and no more wishes, love is gone And I just don’t care

  • Wow- love this song! Wish I knew what the lyrics mean.

  • Sasha Polinoff played on the album "Play Balalaika Play" and several others. Lonya Kalbouss, who played the piano and accordian at the old Russian Bear restaurant in New York played the accordian on some of the albums that Theo recorded. There is something very special about Russian Gypsy music - and Theo was the best! I loved him in "Fiddler" and wish he would come out west once more to Sacramento.

  • @eileenkjb hi YES more Bikel songs! and i learned to play the balalaika to his LPs so i would attempt to play at the Russian Clubs in NYC and i moved there to just do this- play and play the balalaika just how his balalaika player "Sahsa Polinoff" played on his Russian recordings

  • Wonderful! Better than when I saw him live. really good videography.

  • Just magnificent and even more mellow than on his Songs of A Russian Gypsy album when his hair was still jet black.

  • потрясающе!!!!! Shalom from Israel! ай тари-тари-там...Theo forever!

  • Yes, please, more Theo and Russian songs!

  • I have always enjoyed Theo Bikel and glad that he is still performing songs such as this one. I haven't heard him do anything live in about 25 years,(Fiddler - in Sacramento, CA). This song brings back many good memories of my life in NY and The Russian Bear. The beard is longer, but the voice is still so strong. More Theo and Russian songs please.
