Wahcade Installation Tutorial (Yellow Dog linux running on Playstation 3) part 1

Installing Wahcade Frontend

Download the package below it has everything needed to get wahcade installed on Yellow Dog Linux. Save the package to your desktop.

Open up a terminal and run the command below! Choosing y for yes when prompted for permission.

su
enter root password
yum install smpeg smpeg-devel

Now right click on the wahcade.tar.bz2 file on your desktop and choose extract here. This will create a folder named (wahcade) on your desktop. Open the wahcade folder and copy the files below onto your desktop.

SDL_mixer-1.2.8.tar.gz
SDL_image-1.2.6.tar.gz
SDL_ttf-2.0.9.tar.gz

Right click on SDL_mixer-1.2.8.tar.gz and choose extract here. This will create a folder named SDL_mixer-1.2.8 right click on this folder and choose open in terminal. Now run the commands below to build and install SDL_mixer.

./configure
make
su
enter root password
make install

Right click on SDL_image-1.2.6.tar.gz and choose extract here. This will create a folder named SDL_image-1.2.6 right click on this folder and choose open in terminal. Now run the commands below to build and install SDL_image.

./configure
make
su
enter root password
make install

Right click on SDL_ttf-2.0.9.tar.gz and choose extract here. This will create a folder named SDL_ttf-2.0.9 right click on this folder and choose open in terminal. Now run the commands below to build and install SDL_FONT.

./configure
make
su
enter root password
make install

Now you can go ahead and delete the files SDL_ttf-2.0.9.tar.gz , SDL_mixer-1.2.8.tar.gz , SDL_image-1.2.6.tar.gz and related folders.

sorry by the way i have a 46 inch lcd full hd tv and cant get the screen setings correct to fit the wahcade , its just in a square near the middle would this affect the opning of the roms

No it wouldn't you have to resize the backround.img to the size of your screen so it fits correctly. the open the backround with the wahcade-layout-editor and resize the boxes to fit the new backround.img size!

I think i have the same problem but I dont remember that box, I dont mind going through it the long way as I've done so much already configuring the wireless, youtube, overscanning, desktop customizing..... can you help?

You didnt check the box for "install developer/development software" when you installed ydl. You should just re-install it (since you would have to go through and install them one by one otherwise) and this time make sure to check that box.

Everytime i try to run the ./configure command it says there is no acceptable c compiler found in $PATH. Please help.

its running, used wahcade 0.99pre5.1 Fixed Indeed and the roms will load now.could you tell me how you do the snapshots so they show up on the game list. Where do you take the snapshot and how, I cant get it to work. using snes9xgtx but cant figure out what to press to take the snap. i have the artwork folder setup in wahcade.havin trouble geting the controller to work. it works through the cable on snes9x when i change the keys but cant get it to control wahcade. any help would be appreciated.

hi, ive followed the installation guide which was excellent. i have ydl 6.1 on ps3 but am having problems. i have all installed correctly i think but cant get game to open. i go to my snes emulator in the wahcade , see my list of roms, pick one and i get grey box with opening, but it just sticks at that, no game opens, any ideas what might be wrong

what size is your tv mines a 60 inch and i had to run it in 480i so i could read the text what is your settings on this
