This film is based on some silly stereotypes. Obviously for you and me it is simply ridiculous, cuz we lived in the USSR and had a free medical and dental care, free high education, vacation trips 90% paid by the professional union, etc. What we didn't have is Levi jeans and Coca-Cola :-D
No one wanted to leave, except for the Jews. But that's a nation that likes traveling.
So look at it as Canadians being jealous ;-)
PS the only thing that amused me is the accent. I do speak like that too! LOL

It amazes me how many people DON'T understand this film. There is NO WAY that VFS would have produced it if they thought it was anti-American or anti-Russian in any way, shape or form. This film isn't even about POLITICS... and if you think it is, you've missed the point.

It's a great short. Congrats to all involved.

it's this film that had me subscribe to VFS, and i still think it's probably one of the best films on youtube

Well done, it reminds me of the movie The Island where they all hope to win the lottery which is a ticket to a vivisection.
