My embouchure's not what it was once, but you can hear how this horn sounds. The first valve clicks because the felt is missing - an easy replacement. On the web's most popular auction site, my name is MichaelD4000. This old horn is available there.

  • how much? you selling?

  • It sold. Thanks for your interest.

  • Hey is that an olds? possibly a studio model?

  • Yes it's an F.E. Olds & Sons baritone - this video's the only thing I have to remember it by as I sold it on Ebay (as my Ebay name: MichaelD4000) to a guy who calls himself dukelax80. Nice fellow who makes cool periodic tables - His plan was to restore the horn to its former glory.

It's a continental baritone which is a cylindrical-conical bore hybrid that places it somewhere between a true British-bore baritone and a euphonium. A baritone has a predominately cylindrical bore while a euphonium has a conical bore meaning its tubing expands in size gradually throughout the horn giving it a softer sound.

A continental baritone is distinguishable by the bell-front and canted-valve design and is a hybrid of the two bore designs.

  • I quit playing about two years ago.. Had to give my baritone away.. no I regret !! :( But I still have the skills (I hope... :P )

  • isn't that a euphonium?
