NYC DYCD Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) 2009 - NYS DOL & NYATEP SYEP Interviews

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with summer employment and educational opportunities. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs at government agencies, hospitals, summer camps, nonprofits, small businesses, law firms, museums, sports enterprises, and retail organizations.

In 2009, Federal stimulus provided additional summer jobs for New York youth. The NYS Department of Labor and NY Association of Training and Employment Professionals interviewed youth and SYEP staff from across the state. You can hear about their stories in this video.
