it was very close to being declared one but it had become too derelict (the fault of the owner) to even consider it for full heritage status.

It was never actually deemed a heritage building was it? I had heard that they were in the process of demolishing it and the fire just finished it off. Great video though. Kind of tragic.

Waydago Jay! You obviously got more footage than I did of the initial phase of the fire. Yes I got some footage too but I still have yet to post it.

Apparently it took and hour and a half to get rid of the flames.
The commentary is pretty good at the beginning.

It was likely torched in order to reduce demo costs. But the strategy is backfiring on the ol' donkey .
