I don't think that bag is helping it.

The Damage on your Miracle Fruit leaves resembles burns from a lack of Humidity. It's what happens to plants that require some moisture in the the air. What happens is the moisture in the leaves get leached / sucked out by the dry air and then those leaf areas die. I see the same damage on peoples house plant in the cold dry winters of the north. For indoor plants I place a large trey with a inch of water in it. As the water evaporates, the moist air rises up around the plant keeping a higher..

Spider mites are no fun but can be controlled, try isolating and increase moisture and humidity if possible and add peat moss between gaps in plants. Keep moist and mist plants to keep at bay. (mites hate moisure) Try mixing 1 part water to 1 part alcohol and spray leaves top and bottom, will kill on contact with little or no harm to plants. Miticides like avid, kelthane, or anything containing pyrethoids. Apply once every 5 days. Hope this helps you, take care.

@TheFallguy11 Would you happen to know how to get rid of a very established spider mite infestation? Do spider mites build web-like strands between leaves and can be seen traveling on them? I have a big problem on my porch. They have killed my tarragon and are working on my peppermint.

I'm considering getting one of these trees. Thanks for this post and thanks to those who are leaving sensible and informative comments about the problem. Very educational. :)

Your problem is a simple fungas and spider mites, dont cover use a spray bottle and give 4-5 hours max sunlite. Suggest you change soil and use half pearlite and half peat to get right ph. Do this and your plant will respond...enjoy.

@hydrobot2003 yea the only chemicals released into the air are for farms, these so called "chemtrails" you speak of are not chemicals they are prodused by jets what exacly causes them I am not sure but I can assure you they are not deadly chemicals realeased into the air.

Im not an expert but I think plants can die if the co2 levels in the bag and not suffient to maintain life so mabye it sufficated small holes in the bag may make a differnce in the plants health if it were still living.

It would do better in your house with water for humidity. Looks like a little salt burn on the tips of the leaves...too much fertilizer...nitrogen specifically.
Watch for mealybugs...little bastards.

ok, I just had to reply to your completely useless comment. hopefully, you'll understand that the Caps Lock button is not cruise control. Second of all, It's pretty gosh darn hot in Africa, what with all the rain forest and everything. I'm inclined to ask other growers in the states that also have the plant. In time, you'll learn that research isn't enough until you speak with someone who's has experience. Thanks anyways for your "unique" criticism. Next time use the Audio Preview button.
