mother rabbit feeding babies

My rabbit Maisie, who I only had for 2 weeks surprised me the other day when I came out to find she had had 3 babies!! Here she is feeding them...I had to bribe her with some nice fruit and a carrot though...

So beautiful. Love the bird song in the background. Makes it so peaceful. Congrats on the babies. My one rabbit had a litter of 8 on May 2, 2010. We just had a litter of 3 born 2 days ago but unfortuntely they all passed away yesterday. Hope all your little ones are ok though :)

@TrueEnergizerBunnies Thank you. Yes they all made it! Sadly I had to give 2 of the babies away but I kept the little black and white one who I named Oreo! They are doing well :) So sorry to hear of your sad news.

@emmalaly I have 22 rabbits. one named Oreo as well! We kept all the babies from the litter of 8. Unfortuntely 1 died when she fell out of the nest at 4 days old and the runt died when he was 7 months old from a heart attack but the rest are alive and well :) You were so lucky to catch her feeding them. Most do it when you aren't around. I saw the mom of the 8 feed hers every night. She was the perfect mommy.
