John Hartson missed a last minute penalty as Rangers won the League Cup. Lorenzo Amoruso challenged Bobo Balde at the edge of the box and when the Celtic defender fell over, Kenny Clark gave Hartson the chance to take the match into extra-time. Thankfully, Hartson put the ball wide and goals from Claudio Caniggia and Peter Lovenkrands were enough for the win. Henrik Larsson had made it 2-1 with 30 minutes remaining but Celtic, who had Neil Lennon sent off after two red card offences in two minutes, could not find another goal.

  • Bastards kicked and hacked all the way through the game becuase there just not good enough!

  • @MrGustySpence oh :O

  • @Shaftsus perhaps so but since the catholic church is one the richest organizations in the world should they not fund these schools themselves??????

  • That was never a penalty.

  • @yermaw145 Ok I don't care anymore I'm not here to stick up for taigs, havent even gone to church in a while tbh....

  • @Shaftsus I'm targeting the institution as I have done on many occasions, didn't you read my comment? If you've ready my page then you should have a pretty good idea what I'm all about..

  • @yermaw145 ok mate I don't give a shit - yeah there was molestation in the Catholic scene but that has nothing to do with the faith or the good people that believe in it, it's unfair to brand them all as pedo's because of their beliefs - criticise the establishment and the people that run it, don't target the people who have a genuine faith in Catholicism. And I doubt you have ever attended a Catholic school so how would you know what they teach?

  • @Shaftsus Navigated completely away from the point I was trying to make. It had nothing to do with religious values whatsoever, it was the harvestation of bigotry-pure and simple. And I'm betting that the Roman Catholic schooling system wasn't the friendliest system in the WHOLE of the 20th century, what with a sex scandal running as deep as the Atlantic Ocean. The only religious value taught in those catholic schools was learning to keep your mouth shut when fondled.

  • @yermaw145 Yeah that happened in the early 20th century, and they still have Catholic schools not only in Scotland and Ireland, but in the US, Canada etc. It's not that big a deal in those countries what's your problem with it? Surely people have a right to be raised through a schooling system that uphold their religious values - I'm betting that British schooling wasn't the friendliest system for a young Catholic in the early 20th century, he'd get the shit kicked out of him every day.

  • @yermaw145 "Ugly snarling face", I'll tell you why people hate him. Not only is he a taig, but he is ginger and has those facial features that you've just described. He looks like your stereotypical Irishman, like almost a racial stereotype of one. That's not a good enough reason to send someone death threats though, and the fact that he is a Catholic plays a lot into it, but yeah there is a little more to it than most Celtic fans think, but only a little.
