  • Could somebody post a comment on these operatic channels who doesn't carry a tune in a bucket?

  • what do you mean?

  • @leoperarm : I have a suspicion that 99%of the people who comment on these opera channels could not sing a tune to save their lives and, yet, you would think, from their comments, that they are retired operatic superstars.

"Carrying a tune in the bucket" is an expression here in Antarctica meaning they are unable to "hold" a note in ANY form much less an aria so they must "carry" it in a bucket.

  • OK thanks :)

  • Thanks for posting !

Maddalena is NANCY FABIOLA HERRERA, not Nancy Redman(?)

  • Rolando and Anna at their usual best, but I think that the quartet would be improved if it was slightly faster, like the Sutherland and Pavarotti version, as it gets across the tension and emotions if each character, especially gilda

  • Yuk, yuk, yuk! Villazon doing his absolute best Kermit impression. This is a bloody hard sing, and he just isn't carrying it here.

A lot of flat singing from Netrebko too.

  • Netrebko's soprano is exquisite! What do you mean by this "soprano?"?! Perhaps Bartoli is a soprano then?! LOL... If only her partners were as great as she is!...

  • Love You Rolando ....

  • yes, yes, true about Rolando, maybe true about Anna, but this is beautiful for those of us who aren't jaded cognoscenti and thanks to leoperaarm for posting!

  • I love Rolando Villazon just as much as the next guy, but he just tries too hard and ends up forcing his voice to be bigger than it is... and it loses all it's gorgeously free tone...
